2010 Acura NSX SPY Photos - Pre-Production Pics

FINALLY!!! Honda has apparently started testing pre-production prototypes of its highly anticipated 2010 Acura NSX, as speculated by these recent spy photos taken in Germany.

This pre-production prototype appears to be loosely based on the recent NAIAS Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept which received a lot of different reactions from many prominent automotive enthousiasts.

The new NSX, which has been delayed more than a UAW strike, is expected to incorporate a front-mounted, 550 hp V10 engine and a new high-performance, rear-wheel-drive based version of Acura’s ‘Super Handling All-Wheel Drive’ (SH-AWD).

According to Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., the delay has been because designers couldn’t agree on the NSX’s styling. “All of the designers are working together on the NSX, but they can’t agree on the styling,” he said in January this year. I think this is going prove to be a good thing in its final design, hopefully another beautiful and timeless design will come of this!!

American Honda President and CEO Tetsuo Iwamura recently confirmed the NSX will be launched in the U.S. in 2010. Honda will also be launching the Acura brand in Japan and Europe around the same time, but the automaker says it will launch the NSX in the U.S. market first.

Porsche Cayman Turbo At the Nurburgring ?

Here are some interesting spy photos which were taken by BridgeToGantry.com, a site dedicated to all things about the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Wearing Ludwigsburg license plates, which indicates an official Porsche AG car, BTG spotted this Porsche Cayman doing some hot laps. What was interesting was not it’s appearance but rather its sound. BTG photographer gives an account of hearing the distinct sound of a turbo engine as this Cayman flew past.

BTG states they have seen a similar Cayman prototype making the same noise a year ago, but it’s back. A turbo charged Cayman making somewhere in the neighborhood of 340hp would be a serious threat and outperform its older sibling, the 911. Known for being lean and well balanced, a Cayman Turbo would absolutely cannibalize 911 sales and Porsche knows it. According to BTG, privateer teams last year who were using the Cayman were suddenly upgraded to, “money-can’t-buy factory-backed RSR 911s.”

Lindsay Lohan’s TriFactor: Crash’d SL65, Cops Find Coke… DUI?

Lindsay Lohan must be seriously jealous of Paris Hilton’s upcoming starring role in “45 days in prison” because she went out this weekend and trumped Hilton’s troubles with a wonderful TriFactor of crashing her SL65, cops finding cocaine in the car and a possible pending DUI charge.

Marcelo Volpe, a photographer for the celebrity photo agency X17 Inc., said he saw Lohan leaving a party in Hollywood Hills around 4 a.m. looking “completely wasted.”

Midnight - Lindsay left her condo and headed to Les Deux nightclub in her black GMC SUV, driven by her bodyguard Jaz

Saturday May 26th, 2007

3 am - Lindsay left Les Deux and went to a private house party in the Hollywood Hills

4 am - Lindsay left the party looking inebriated, according to our photographer, and made a pit stop at the Skybar at the Mondrian Hotel

4:45 am - Lindsay left the Skybar and headed back to her condo on Doheny Drive (until this point she was being driven by someone else in the SUV)

5:15 am - Lindsay leaves her condominium building in her black Mercedes SL 65 convertible and loses control of the car (a V12) just a few block away

5:25 am - Lindsay flees the scene of the accident, where her car “hit some bushes,” according to Sergeant Mike Foxen of the BHSD

5:30 am - the Beverly Hills Sheriff’s Department receives a call from a witness to the accident and officers head to the scene to investigate

6:30 am - Lindsay’s car is towed from the scene of the accident at Foothill and Sunset

In a press conference this afternoon about the arrest of Lindsay Lohan, cops say they found a “usable amount” of a drug at the scene, which they say was cocaine. Lt. Mitch McCann of the Beverly Hills Police Department would not say where the drug was found, but it was “not on her person.”

Police tell TMZ that 20-year-old Lohan and two other adults were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible when she lost control and crashed into a curb and trees (see photo below) in Beverly Hills around 5:30 AM. After the crash, police say LiLo got into another car and was driven to Century City Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries that involved “something to her upper chest area.” Police said the two other people in her car were not hurt.

Officers received a 911 call about the accident and “tracked Ms. Lohan to the local hospital, where she was ultimately placed under arrest” for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Lt. McCann said it appeared as if Lohan was speeding and lost control. She was cited and released and will have to face a judge.

With breaking news of Lindsay Lohan’s weekend DUI, Svedka vodka has pulled out of sponsoring Lohan’s 21st birthday bash, to be held this July in Las Vegas. According to Gatecrasher, Svedka was set to sponsor the two-day blowout, but recently rethought the deal. It seems the company thought it might seem irresponsible to be associated with the oft-rehabbing, DUI-driving starlet.

Lohan plans a lavish two-day celebration in Las Vegas over the weekend of July 2-3, with Caesars Palace footing much of the bill.
